Fire Resisting vs Fire Retardant

Where a dwelling has external walls required to be “fire resisting” the system would need to be installed on other walls that are not required to be “fire resisting”. Typically these are external walls within 900mm of a boundary or adjacent to a Class 10 Building (carport or garage) that is within 900mm of a boundary. Alternatively, an engineered solution such as an intumescent paint or blanket can be added to the system. Check with a suitably qualified authority.

Flood Prepared Australia recently partnered with the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office to install our innovative inner wall linings in five flood-prone homes in Wentworth. The high-quality upgrades successfully enhanced the properties’ flood resilience while also providing valuable hands-on employment and mentoring opportunities for two young Aboriginal men in the community.
